The hospital is situated at a main place ( Vadapalani) in the town. It has a range of facilities that you can enjoy in leisure. No use in case of emergency.
The Emergency ward is located at the remote end from the mail entrance. So if you enter the hospital with pain, STAY COOL; tolerate all the pain and walk to wards the emergency ward.
You can not get any Out Patient (OP) consultation at 8PM. Sorry buddy, it is late night in the hospital's dictionary and the only go is to meet the duty doctor in the emergency ward! For which you have to make a short walk of about 500 meters.
In side the emergency ward, you might recall the your childhood game, " Help the kitty to find the Path" :) , you can find no direction signs, not even Exit marks. You have to explore through a mesh of hallways and at last you will find the consultation room. The time to find it depends on your skill set and luck.
Next comes our start of the show, the duty doctor! I went and reported severe pain in abdomen at 8 pm. He told fine; we need to make some tests to find them out, but we can do the tests only tomorrow. All what I can do is do a first aid . He prescribes some pain killer injection and asks the person accompanying the patient ( attender) to go and buy the injection.
Cool, march back to the pharmacy at the entrance of the hospital back for the pharmacy. You can see a small queue waiting for medicines there. Wait for your turn , submit your prescription and wait for a minimum of ten minutes. You get a bill for it and you try to pay cash there. Sweet surprise! the cash payment is at a separate counter after 8PM which is another 200 Meter away.
After successfully completing the adventure of buying the medicines, you reach the doctor, he asks to wait for 15 minutes and then gives the injection. During all the time. poor patient as to keep cool with no attention.
Now comes the fun part. Duty doctor says, " All what I have done is a first aid, we need to examine in detail and then only can treat. I will give you a list of tests. Do all the tests and then meet the OP doctor tomorrow morning. The list of test included a list of blood tests, Abdomen Scan and a couple of X-rays too! "
